You Have Been Away for too Long

For your account to remain active, you need to make frequent transactions. If there has been no deposits, withdrawals, transfers or point-of-sale transactions on the account, it will be considered ‘Inactive’ after six months. Accounts that have been inactive for a year or more are further classified as dormant.

How can you prevent your account from becoming inactive or dormant

  • Conduct transactions on your bank account regularly.

  • Keep your address and contact information updated on your bank accounts so as not to miss out on important notifications.

How to Reactivate Your Inactive Account

Please do any of the following to make your accounts active:

  • Funds transfer to/from the account (via mobile banking/internet banking or the simple and much loved *737#)
  • Cash deposit/withdrawal
  • Cheque deposit/withdrawal

How to Reactivate Your Dormant Account

Individual Account Holders

  • A duly filled dormant account reactivation form
  • Recent utility bill issued within the last 3 months– original for sighting if address has changed
  • Valid means of identification (International passport, Driver’s license, Permanent Voter’s Card or National ID card)

Corporate Account Holders

Sole Proprietorship

  • A duly filled dormant corporate account reactivation form or Reactivation letter signed by authorized account signatory.
  • Valid regulatory ID card of authorized signatory

Limited Liability Companies

  • A duly filled dormant corporate account reactivation form or Board resolution signed by two directors or a director and the company secretary (Company seal should be affixed on the letter)
  • Valid regulatory ID card of authorized signatories/directors/trustees
